I am miyama void. I write, draw, and box in Japan.

A few years ago I did not have an address. I ran away from home, slept in parks and net cafés, cleaned hotel rooms in Hokkaido, went on welfare, and ended up in a ¥30,000 room on the Chiba coast next to a waste plant. I started writing there, because writing was the one thing that still worked when nothing else did.

The books in this store came out of that. They were not written afterwards, looking back. They were written while it was happening — which is why the early pages are angry and the later ones are quiet.

I am not selling you a recovery story. What happened happened, and I am still working out what it meant. If that is the kind of thing you read, the books are here.
